资源简介:
This dataset accompanies the manuscript “Fluoxetine enhances reproductive output without affecting spawning-site selection in turquoise killifish” and contains all data and R scripts required to reproduce the analyses presented in the study. The research investigates how exposure to an environmentally realistic concentration of the antidepressant fluoxetine (an SSRI) affects two key components of reproduction in the turquoise killifish (Nothobranchius furzeri): (i) fecundity and clutch size, and (ii) spawning-site selection and habitat preference. Understanding which reproductive behaviours are sensitive to neuroactive contaminants is essential for predicting how pharmaceutical pollution may influence fish population dynamics. The study integrates three experimental components:Single-pair breeding assays, quantifying clutch size, total number of produced eggs, and substrate-specific oviposition.Habitat-choice tests, measuring the relative time fish spent in black versus white substrate zones (activity-based preference).Social-group fecundity assays, assessing egg production and substrate use in small mixed-sex groups. All analyses were performed in R (version used in the manuscript), using linear models, generalized linear mixed models (GLMMs), and diagnostic/visualisation steps to examine the effects of fluoxetine exposure, substrate colour, body size, and sex where relevant. This FigShare repository contains:Raw datasets used for all statistical analyses (individual-based, longitudinal, and group-level).R analysis script, fully annotated, reproducing all tests, model selection steps, diagnostics, and graphs included in the manuscript.Metadata file, providing variable descriptions, units, data structure, and context for each experimental dataset.Together, these files ensure full transparency and reproducibility of the study and allow re-use of the data for meta-analyses, comparative studies, or methodological assessments in behavioural ecotoxicology.
