VPRS 13969 Classified Technical Teachers Record Books

The records were created to document the employment of teachers in Victorian technical schools between about 1930 and 1968 and are arranged in alphabetical order. From c.1960 the record of any new technical teachers were recorded in VPRS 11371, however any existing records in VPRS 13969 continued to be added to until c.1968. The series commenced in c.1930 however information about teachers dating from c.1920 onwards was entered into these Record Books when this series commenced. There may be records in this series that are no longer extant, as technical schools were established in Victoria by Act 2301 of Parliament in 1910, but the records held do not commence until 1930. Information may include: The record number The name of the teacher The date of first appointment under the Public Service Act The name of the school(s) where positions were held The position(s) held The class and range of salary code (sometimes even documenting a sub-division of a class) Grades (presumably given by an inspector) Duties of the position The dates that position(s) were held Remarks The remarks column usually includes a brief description of the position(s) held or a transfer of jobs.
