<p>3D scan of a fossilized primitive bird, the extinct <em>Confuciusornis sanctus</em> dated 125 million years ago and found in the Liaoning province, China. The lagerstätte in China is an El Dorado for paleontologists and evolutionary biologists: more than 1000 specimens of <em>Confuciusornis</em> were found there. These findings provide valuable information on the evolution of birds. One of the characteristics of this species is that they had a total of
three retaining claws on their fingers. The curved claw on the first
finger was the biggest.</p>
