RNA-seq of Plodia interpunctella

Plodia interpunctella, is one of the global storage pests. It can harm a variety of stored foods and cause serious economic losses, which is continuously threatening the development of food crop storage and food processing industry.Adult Plodia interpunctella can use its sensitive olfactory system to sense odor molecules in the environment, identify volatiles released by stored food crops, search and locate suitable places for its eggs, meet the food demand of its offspring, and ensure the survival rate. In this study, transcriptome sequencing was performed on the female antenna, male antenna, larva antenna, and adult thorax, abdomen, legs and wings of the Plodia interpunctella. Transcriptome sequencing and bioinformatics analysis were used to find gene targets to develop green and efficient prevention methods.
