Exploration for chiral magnons splitting in g-wave altermagnets CrSb

Altermagnetism has been recently proposed as a new elementary magnetic phase, in addition to traditional ferromagnetism and antiferromagnetism, based on a developed spin-group-symmetry classification focusing on collinear magnets. Recently, several altermagnet candidates have been predicted and spin-splitting band structures has been observed through angle-resolved photoemission spectroscopy in some of them, including MnTe, CrSb and RuO2, etc.. Beyond spin splitting in electronic band structures, non-degenerate chiral magnons are also theoretically predicted in altermagnets at zero magnetic fields, which deviates from the magnon spectrum of conventional antiferromagnets. In this proposal, we aim to study the altermagnetic candidate CrSb, which has a high Néel temperature (TN) of ~710 K and is predicted to exhibit large spin splitting. Confirming the presence of chiral magnon splitting in CrSb is crucial to advancing our understanding of altermagnetism and its unique magnetic properties.
