This is an experimental study with the objective of investigating the role of whole bean flour and protein hydrolysate of common bean associated with a high fat diet on the gut health of adult BALB/c mice. Despite the the effect of whole bean flour and its protein hydrolysate in the health, it is not understood the effects of the combination of the dietary fibers of the beans and their bioactive compounds on gut microbiome and this study can help to identificate new strategies to improve the gut health based on the beans consumption.
