资源简介:
Typhoid fever has previously been uncommon in Blantyre, Malawi. In 2011, however an epidemic of Typhoid fever caused by Salmonella enterica serovar Typhi began and the number of culture confirmed cases rose from a long term mean of 13/year to ~800/year in 2013 and 2014. S. Typhi has previously been a very difficult pathogen to type in epidemics, but whole genome sequencing offers the resolution to be able to investigate the transmission dynamics of the pathogen during an epidemic.
