Key Informant Participatory Mapping Data for Puerto Rico Coral Disease Sightings and Recommendations for Monitoring and Intervention

This dataset contains the results of a participatory mapping exercise conducted in 2021 with Key Informants in Puerto Rico. The goal of this research was to identify coral disease sightings and recommendations of priority sites and areas for coral disease monitoring and intervention efforts. Data was collected using Sea Sketch software, which was then imported directly to GIS and then exported as an Excel document, and then cleaned up. Data tabs containing a "key" for each section aid the interpretation of data. This work was supported by the National Coral Reef Management Fellowship, which is supported by a partnership between National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s (NOAA) Coral Reef Conservation Program, the U.S. Department of Interior Office of Insular Affairs, Nova Southeastern University’s Halmos College of Arts and Sciences, and the U.S. Coral Reef All Islands Committee.
