Recent epidemiological evidences suggest that the new clone Sequence Type 307 is emerging in different parts of the world and is candidate to become one of most prevalent high risk clones in the next future. Here we show that Klebsiella pneumoniae KPC-producing ST307 genome encodes peculiar features that can provide an advantage in adaptation in the hospital environment and in the human host.
