资源简介:
The novel virus SARS-CoV-2 has infected more than three million people worldwide resulting in the Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), an unprecedented global pandemic. With limited information on the underlying immune mechanism that drive disease or protection during COVID-19, efforts to develop therapeutics and vaccines are severely hampered. Hence, the establishment of relevant animal models that mimic the pathobiology of the disease and a more complete understanding of the immune pathways that are induced in response to infection is urgent. Rhesus macaques infected with SARS-CoV-2 exhibit disease pathobiology similar to what is observed in human COVID-19 patients, and thus serve as relevant animal model of self-limiting disease. In this dataset, we have characterized the RNA-seq transcriptional signatures induced in the lungs of juvenile and old rhesus macaques following SARS-CoV-2 infection.
