The annual deliveries of slate blocks for cladding, decorative purposes, and as crude blocks in Great Britain peaked in 2021 at nearly 34 million metric tons. In 2009 there was a considerable drop in the annual deliveries value, which has fluctuated until 2014. Since 2014 this value has been dropping, reaching in 2018 the lowest value in this period: 26 million metric tons.
