资源简介:
Fireflies (Coleoptera: Lampyridae) are the most famous example of bioluminescence, and produce a cold light in some stage of development. With more than 2000 species in 100 genera, worldwide lampyrid biodiversity is impressive and includes diurnally active as well as nocturnal species. Most firefly species are terrestrial and only 9 species are belong to aquatic. The terrestrial firefly Pyrocoelia pectoralis (E. Oliv., 1883) is widely distributed in mainland China. Larval P. pectoralis was reported as main predator of land snails and suggested as a possible bio-control agent to pest snails. Adults emerge in October and sexually dimorphic. Flightless females glow sedentarily and release sex pheromone to attract flying and glowing males to mate. we sequenced the whole genome of P. pectoralis and im order to impove the conservation of fireflies and biodiversity, sexual communication, bio-luminescence and evolution.
