PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for processing biomass (vegetable biomass， animal biomass and waste biomass from local government， for example) and generating useful intermediate product and product material which are polycarboxylic acid and polycarboxylic acid derivative for example. SOLUTION: A method includes: processing a lignocellulose material or a cellulose material with reduced hardly decomposable property by one type or more of enzyme and/or organism to generate polycarboxylic acid; and converting the polycarboxylic acid into the product.
