The aim of the proposal is to investigate the structural properties of the compound CoSn2 at the long and local scale by means of high resolution X-ray powder diffraction (XRPD) and pair distribution function (PDF) analyses, from room temperature down to 5 K. This compound exhibits a discontinuity in the resistivity curve around 25 K. Such a feature seems related to a structural transition, suggested by the Fermi surface map for ab cleaved plane at 20 K, obtained from ARPES. Hence, we aim to reveal if CoSn2 undergoes a structural transition at low temperatures by analyzing its structural properties using both high-resolution XRPD and pair distribution function analysis. At this scope, we ask 3 shifts at the ID22 beamline.
