Replication Data and Stata Code for "Weighted Composite Diversification Index: A New Measure of Economic Diversification in Resource-Dependent Economies"
收藏资源简介:
This dataset and accompanying Stata do-files provide the empirical material for the Weighted Composite Diversification Index (WCDI) introduced in “Weighted Composite Diversification Index: A New Measure of Economic Diversification in Resource-Dependent Economies.” The dataset is provided in two formats: - Excel file (WCDI_GCC_Data.xlsx), which contains 2019 data for six GCC economies (Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates). - Stata data file (WCDI_GCC_Data.dta), which contains the same dataset in Stata format for direct use with the accompanying code. Data sources include the UNSD, UN Comtrade, IMF, Saudi Arabia’s General Authority for Statistics, and the author’s calculations. Variables cover export, fiscal, and output diversification, resource shares, and other macroeconomic indicators used in constructing the WCDI. The Stata do-file (WCDI_DoFile.do) contains the commands used in Stata to compute the index, weighting, and penalty terms. Please cite this dataset as:Eskandar, G. (2025).
