Nationwide psychological and behavioural health data from Chinese residents 2021-2024

The Psychology and Behaviour Investigation of Chinese Residents (PBICR) is a nationwide repeated cross-sectional survey conducted annually in China from 2021 to 2024. Using a multi-stage stratified quota sampling design broadly aligned with national population characteristics, the survey collected information from residents across diverse regions and communities. The dataset covers sociodemographic characteristics, physical health, psychological and behavioural assessments, childhood experiences, and social issues. The public release includes the de-identified 2021 baseline dataset, codebooks, questionnaires, and core metrics datasets from later waves, providing a valuable resource for repeated cross-sectional analyses of mental and behavioural health among Chinese residents.
