Gut microbiota from a Prader-Willi syndrome (PWS) child before and after a weight loss program by diet were transplanted in to germ-free mice. Here the gut microbiome in human donor and mice recipients were profiled by sequencing of the bacterial 16S rRNA gene V3 region on Ion PGM System to evaluate the transferability of gut microbiota during transplantation and explore the potential culprits contributing to the obese-related phenotype in PWS.
