THE ROLE OF ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE AND BIOTECHNOLOGY IN ENHANCING FOOD SAFETY THROUGH THE HACCP SYSTEM

Abstract Food safety is a global priority that directly affects public health, economic development, and consumer confidence. The increasing complexity of food production requires innovative approaches to monitor and control potential hazards. Artificial Intelligence (AI) and biotechnology have become essential technologies for improving the effectiveness of the Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP) system. AI enables real-time monitoring, predictive analytics, and automated decision-making, while biotechnology provides rapid detection of foodborne pathogens and contaminants. The integration of these technologies with HACCP enhances risk assessment, improves product quality, reduces production losses, and supports sustainable food manufacturing. This paper examines the importance of combining AI, biotechnology, and HACCP to strengthen modern food safety management systems.
