Danish Gallup Omnibus Data, 1989 comprises 15 omnibus surveys carried out by the Danish Gallup Institute in 1989. # #Each survey contains a number of demographic variables common to all the surveys of that year, as well as a number of questions dealing with topical events. # #The present survey is a year file based on all the surveys. # #The questions common to all 1989 omnibuses are: #The respondent's sex, age and marital status; size of the household and number of adults (persons aged 15 or more) and children (persons under 15) and age of the children; the respondent's position in the household; the respondent's education, occupational status and income; the bread-winner's education, occupational status and form of payment; gross household income; the spouse's occupational status; housing conditions and ownership of the dwelling as well as geographical location and degree of urbanization; party preference; and whether the respondent voted at the general election on 10 May, 1988. # #The special questions deal with such issues as: # #Omnibus no. 01 (DDA-1529): #Attitude to Denmark's membership of the EC; whether the respondent is willing to donate organs for transplantation; important problems which should be solved; attitude to tax evasion; unemployment versus wage decrease; and attitude to a pension reform. # #Omnibus no. 02 (DDA-1530): #The qualities which women find attractive in men as regards personality, looks, and profession; foreign aid; attitude to a reduction of the number of political refugees; assessment of the performance of the Government; and qualities of leadership of men and women. # #Omnibus no. 03 (DDA-1531): #Knowledge of and expectations as regards the coming into being of the Single European Market; whether the Danish Government or the European Parliament should have the greatest political influence in the EC; whether a common EC defence policy will have any effect on Denmark's membership of NATO; attitude to a European political union; view on the USA; attitude to Denmark's membership of NATO; assessment of the difference between a non-Socialist and a Social Democratic government; subtitles on TV; whether society lets young people down; access to transplantation; trade in organs; and the advertising campaign of Danish industry. # #Omnibus no. 04 (DDA-1532): #Whether the labour market settlement will influence the following areas: the unemployment rate, the foreign debts, the competitive power, and the country's economy; the conflict between Israel and the Arab states; summer holiday plans; attitude to the EC; whether the respondent is willing to donate organs for transplantation; the death criterion; subtitles on TV; whether society lets young people down; use of spectacles; the Catholic versus the Protestant religion; and whether Pope John Paul is a progressive pope. # #Omnibus no. 08 (DDA-1536): #Attitude to imposing restrictions on the access to alcohol;
