Open Thermal Dataset of a Social Housing Dwelling with Passive Roof Modification Scenarios

This file presents an open thermal performance database derived from the simulation of a social housing dwelling used as a reference case study. The dataset was developed to document and compare indoor thermal behavior under different roof configuration scenarios, including a baseline condition, a green roof system, and a ventilated roof assembly. The reference dwelling corresponds to a housing typology located in Mérida, Yucatán, Mexico, a region characterized by extreme warm–humid climatic conditions with high solar exposure and persistent thermal stress throughout the year. Annual energy simulations were performed using DesignBuilder, generating hourly records over a full 365-day period. The database includes relative humidity, air temperature and operative temperature, resulting in 8,760 hourly records per variable for each simulated scenario. Rather than evaluating specific design solutions, the dataset aims to provide a structured and reusable source of information for future studies on building thermal performance, comparative analyses, and educational or methodological applications in warm–humid climates. This dataset contributes to the dissemination of reference thermal information for social housing environments and supports further research on passive adaptation strategies under conditions of extreme heat.
