Analysis of single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) in Raphidocelis subcapitata. Raphidocelis subcapitata strain:ATCC22662

Raphidocelis subcapitata (Pseudokirchneriella subcapitata) is a green alga, which was formerly known as 'Selenastrum capricornutum NIVA-CHL1'. This strain is widely used for bioassays in toxicological risk assessment worldwide. Accordingly, many microalgal culture collections worldwide maintain R. subcapitata for distribution to users. All R. subcapitata strains maintained in these collections are derived from the same cultured strain, NIVA-CHL1. However, considering that 66 years have passed since this strain was isolated. Thus, we searched and analyzed single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) in Raphidocelis subcapitata from 9 microalgal culture collections.
