Polygonum posumbu is an important medicinal plant that is used by traditional healers in fever, dyspepsia and blood pressure regulation. Previously, we identified and quantified seven flavonoid compounds from three different tissues of the plant. To understand the biosynthetic pathway of flavonoids, we sequenced and compared the P. posumbu tissues like leaf, stem, root transcriptome using high throughput RNA sequencing. After quality filtration, an average of 7.6 Gb clean reads were obtained for leaf, stem and root tissues and assembled 162,546 transcripts.
