This dataset contains magnetostratigraphic measurements from drill core ZK02, located in the Taiyuan Basin, central Shanxi Rift, North China. The core penetrates continuous basin-fill sediments recording the complete history of rift initiation to present. The Excel file includes the following sheets: characteristic remanent magnetization directions and age-depth model calculations. These data constrain the initiation age of the Shanxi Rift to ~7.4 Ma. For detailed methodology, please refer to the associated publication.
