Sturgeon Information Infrastructure (SII) - Great Lakes Basin, 1940-2006

The Sturgeon Information Infrastructure (SII) includes data pertaining to lake sturgeon such as location sampled, time period over which sampling took place, status classification of sturgeon populations during the sampling period, who sampled (agency and biologist contact information), citations associated with sampling, life stages of sturgeon observed during the sampling period, additional research which took place during the sampling effort, and miscellaneous information about sturgeon populations (endemism, successful reproduction, and populations estimates) where known.

These data were collected in order to develop a template system for the USGS in which to monitor the status and trends of an individual species across its entire range as well as track research associated with an individual species across a broad time scale.
