Population History of Greenland, 1800-1930: Census Lists

The purpose of the project is to collect information from censuses and registers from the Disko Bay area and the Umanak District in North West Greenland in such a way as to make the material accessible to historical, demographic, medical, and other research. The source material covers the period 1800-1930, approximately; and the project aims at registering information concerning parents, christening, confirmation, marriage, children, occupation, race, residence throughout life, and death of 20,258 persons. #This particular part-study deals with census information, and it includes all census list registrations from 1834, 1840, 1845, 1850, 1855, 1860, 1870, and 1901 within the area under investigation
