ATFS-1 regulates a broad protective transcriptional program

We previously identified a number of genes which were differentially expressed during mitochondrial stress in an ATFS-1-dependent manner using an atfs-1 loss-of-function mutant allele . To complement the findings from our previous microarray, we compared the transcript profiles from wild-type and atfs-1(et18) gain-of-function worms (which have constitutively active ATFS-1) in the absence of mitochondrial stress. We used microarrays to identify genes regulated by ATFS-1 using a gain-of-function allele of atfs-1.我们此前借助atfs-1功能丧失突变等位基因，鉴定出一批在线粒体应激过程中以ATFS-1依赖方式发生差异表达的基因。为补充我们此前基因芯片实验的研究结果，我们在无线粒体应激的条件下，比较了野生型与atfs-1(et18)功能获得型蠕虫（其ATFS-1呈组成型激活状态）的转录组谱。我们采用基因芯片技术，并借助atfs-1功能获得突变等位基因，以鉴定受ATFS-1调控的基因。
