Population genomics of Schistosoma japonicum using whole genome sequencing

This project will use population genomic approaches to understand how infections spread locally and migrate regionally, and how parasites respond to control measures. This research program will provide insight into detailed patterns of transmission across hosts, across geographic areas, and through time, and will help understand how to prevent infections and advance efforts to achieve permanent reductions in schistosomiasis and other human helminthiases.
