Photographic portrait of Juan Bandini and his daughter Ysidora, ca.1880. Mr. Bandini, chosen congressional substitute and secretary to Mexican California Governor Pio Pico, can be seen seated in a suit and checkered vest and is holding the hand of his daughter. She can be seen seated to the right of him wearing what appears to be a lace and satin dress. Her hair is parted down the middle. Mr. Baldini wears a high collar and scarf-like tie. His hair is parted on the right, while his cheekbones are high and he is clean-shaven. He appears to be in his early sixties. His daughter has large, expressive eyes and appears to be in her twenties. Photoprint reads: "The man who captured Los Angeles".
