Big Creek Reserve Weather Monitoring Project

Unedited meterological data is uploaded periodically (every month or two) from the gate meteorological station (GH) and less frequently from the other four weather stations in Big Creek Reserve. The stations are located at elevations of 9 m (coastal bluff scrub), 66 m (redwood forest), 180 m (Ceanothus coastal scrub), 330 m (coastal grassland), and 750 m (pine/oak/grassland). Rainfall and maximum/minimum air temperature data were manually recorded between 1978 and 1987 at two of the stations. Three different incarnations of automated stations have been used since 1987.
