Harmonized dataset from the Brazilian Atlas of Basic Sanitation 2021 by IBGE This dataset provides the values behind the maps of the Atlas de Saneamento 2021 (Atlas of Basic Sanitation), published by the Instituto Brasileiro de Geografia e Estatística (IBGE) on its GeoServer: 424 map layers turned into tables, mostly one row per municipality, with 463 value columns. The Atlas combines the National Survey of Basic Sanitation (PNSB) with other sources, such as health indicators (DATASUS), the 2010 census, REGIC 2018 and international comparisons (WHO). The files follow the five chapters of the Atlas, split by territorial level: municipalities, states, intermediate geographic regions and countries. Municipal tables join to the meshes of the Brazilian Territorial Division (DTB) by municipio_code. Simplified plotting layers from the DTB are included. The CSV files are named IBGE_ATLASSAN_CAP<chapter>-<level or map code>_BRASIL_<year>.csv, use ; as separator and UTF-8 encoding. Database The GeoPackage IBGE_ATLASSAN_BD_BRASIL_2017.gpkg has one table per CSV file (e.g. cap02_municipios_2017, same columns and values, typed, unique index on the key code), the plotting layers with geometry, and the catalogs, with a layers table describing all of them. Conventions - One column per map, as<map code> as IBGE named the layers; the title and period of each map are in VARIABLES.- Values as published: numbers when every value is a number, else the IBGE category or class (labels in CATEGORIES). Shares are not rescaled (0–1 or 0–100, given in VARIABLES). -9999 (numbers) and NA (text) mean no value.- Year 2017 is the reference year of the Atlas data; the chapter-5 maps of the PNSB 2008 are on the 2008 municipalities (5,564).- Pieces of one map published as several layers were joined after checking that they agree; repeated maps and rows were dropped. Every change is in CONSISTENCY.- Country tables use the ISO3 code; no world geometry is included. Plotting geography The layers (ibge_dtb_municipios_2017, ibge_dtb_municipios_2008, …) come from the DTB 2022 mesh for 2017 (same codes) and from the DTB 2010 mesh for 2008 (Nazária dissolved back into Teresina).
