Tumat canid metagenomic gastrointestinal content

The Tumat Puppies are two Late Pleistocene canid mummies, who have been hypothesized to be early dogs as well as littermates. They were found next to mammoth remains from a potential butchering site with overlapping radiocarbon dates. The aim of the project was to investigate whether the last meal of the Tumat Puppies included mammoth meat, which could link them to the mammoth remains and in turn, potentially to human activity areas, as well as analyze their kinship.
