Knowledge and Attitudes on Familia Condoms and Family Planning Survey with Women of Reproductive Age PSI/TMARC Tanzania conducted a survey with women in reproductive age (WRA) across the country. The results aimed at quality improvement of programs and meeting reporting requirements for donors. The survey aimed at looking for the uptake of different family planning methods among WRA in Tanzania. A total of 1989 WRA (15-49 years) were studied using a structured questionnaire. Awareness was high with almost all respondents (99%) being aware of at least one family planning method. About 92% of the all respondents were aware of at least three modern family planning methods. The most recalled method was Injections, followed by Pills, Implants . Family Planning use About half (50.4%) of respondents reported that they are currently doing something or using method to delay or avoid getting pregnant. Implants was the most common method reported to be currently used followed by pills and male condoms. Attitude/Perception questions Also WRA were asked some availability/access, attitude and perception items related to family planning methods. Most of them reported availability of FP services. About two-third reporte d MFPM to be safe for use. Only a third of them perceived IUD to be an effective method.
