Images from a Historic Building Recording Survey at Sherwood House, Blidworth, Nottinghamshire, May 2022

This collection comprises images from a Level 2 historic building recording survey at Sherwood House, Blidworth, Nottinghamshire as a condition of planning consent for demolition of the existing building and erection of seven dwellings. This work was undertaken by Allen Archaeology in May 2022. The Methodist church was designed by F.W. Tempest and foundations were dug in 1927. After becoming redundant as a place of worship in 1970, the church was converted into a factory for making men's clothes by Guy Warwick Ltd. After 2005, the large factory to the west was demolished and the company transformed the former church and factory floor into a retail shop. This survey has allowed an investigation into one of the region's religious building types and its transformation into private industrial and retail use.
