2D shape files of ejecta features in LICIACube/LUKE data

This dataset contains the 2D shape files used to derive the 3D ejecta features in the context of the DART/LICIACube mission. During the DART impact on the asteroid Dimorphos, the LICIACube/LUKE camera acquired images of the impact event and the subsequent ejecta evolution. Fourteen distinct ejecta features were identified following the methodology described in Deshapriya et al. (2026). The dataset consists of .obj files that were imported and processed within the Python scripting environment in Blender 3.5. Each shape file is named using the feature number followed by the LUKE timestamp of the image from which the 2D shape was extracted. For example, f2_2022-09-26T23_16_53.007.obj corresponds to feature #2, extracted from the LUKE image acquired at UTC 2022-09-26T23:16:53.007. This timestamp information is essential for anyone wishing to independently reproduce our results using the same dataset. All .obj files correspond to LICIA_LUKE non-inertial coordinate frame corresponding to their exact UTC acquisition time. When importing these files into Blender programmatically, following axis convention is recommended: bpy.ops.wm.obj_import(filepath=path, forward_axis='Y', up_axis='Z') It is naturally expected that the user is somewhat familiar with both python and Blender in order to get the expected use of this dataset.
