This BioProject contains two years of 16S rRNA gene sequencing data characterizing the evolution of a microbial community that colonized two pilot scale unit process open water (UPOW) wetlands receiving reverse osmosis concentrate. Wetland 1 received reverse osmosis concentrate and Wetland 2 received reverse osmosis concentrate pre-treated with ozone. Samples were collected from the wetland inlets and sequenced in biological triplicate across three sequencing runs throughout the time series. Therefore, triplicate samples were re-analyzed across discrete sequencing runs as controls and are included in this submission. Primers were used in accordance with Parada et al. (2016) and purified, normalized and pooled amplicons were sequenced on an Illumina MiSeq through the Duke Center for Genomic and Computational Biology using a v2 paired-end 2 x 250 bp reagent kit.
