Differential Gene Expression In The Microbiome Of The Massive Starlet Coral Siderastrea Siderea Under Deoxygenation

The enclosed files include Siderastrea siderea (SSID) coral microbial metatranscriptomic data collected from Bahia Almirante, Panama. Metadata for the files including origin of fragments (site) and associated NCBI accession numbers is included in this repository as the metadata file. Fragments of SSID were placed in 40 L experimental tanks  in a temperature-controlled lab at the Bocas Research Station for deoxygenation experimentation. RNA was extracted from the host tissue, mucus, and skeleton and sequenced on an Illumina NovaSeq6000 with paired 150-bp reads. Trimming and quality filtering of RNA sequences proceeded, followed by assembly with Trinity v2.15.1. The “Trinity.fasta” file is the de novo assembly file of the microbial transcripts. In addition, this assembly was annotated with Trinotate v. 4.0.0, using the complete pipeline (http://trinotate.github.io), and all eukaryotic contigs were removed before downstream analysis. The “trinotate_annotation_report_1e3.xls” file contains the annotated transcripts.
