Temporal dynamics of macrophage heterogeneity after myocardial infarction

In this study, we attempted to identify the heterogeneity and temporal dynamics of leukocytes at single-cell level in mouse heart after inducing MI using the longitudinal single-cell RNA sequencing and spatial transcriptome sequencing. Overall design: To obtain a comprehensive landscape of immune cell profiling after ischemic injury of heart, we performed single-cell RNA sequencing on flow cytometry sorted CD45+ leukocytes from infarcted area of the heart at 1, 3, 5, and 7 days after inducing MI in mice. CD45+ cells from the steady state (no MI) mice were also used for single-cell RNA sequencing as a control.
