资源简介:
This work was completed to evaluate geologic characteristics of the Shackleton-de Gerlache ridge at the lunar south pole. Boulders were mapped and their distribution assessed and compared to other datasets to broadly evaluate possible physical and compositional characteristics of the ridge, and its recent geologic history (e.g., as a result of cratering or mass wasting processes). This dataset stores the locations of boulders found inside of Shackleton, in the western ~half of the crater that intersects the Shackleton-de Gerlache ridge. Boulders were mapped using ShadowCam data in ArcGIS using a threshold of 5 pixels. There are possible issues with georeferencing of images, and an error of +/- 10 m laterally in the precise location of each boulder. More information is found in a corresponding manuscript entitled "Characteristics of the Shackleton-de Gerlache Ridge and Implications for Lunar South Polar Geology and Future Sampling Activities" (Gawronska and Boazman, 2025; https://doi.org/10.1016/j.icarus.2025.116719).
