Round Bay, St. John, U.S. Virgin Islands Marine Data

This product is a collection of data that can be used for future projects concerning the health of marine ecosystems in the U.S. Virgin Islands. The data was obtained from Round Bay, St. John, U.S. Virgin Islands. It contains twelve datasets that were taken over the course of twelve weeks (from November 13 to January 29, 2023-24) and consist of specific factors essential to maintaining a healthy aquatic ecosystem. The factors that are included are temperature, calcium levels, total alkalinity, pH, electrical conductivity, total dissolved solids, salt ppm, saltwater phosphate, nitrite, nitrate, and ammonia. There is also a section that describes the qualitative state of the bay's surrounding area on the same days that the quantitative data was taken. This includes external temperature, weather, number of boats in the bay, and water conditions. These factors were recorded over the course of three of St. John's busiest months (in terms of marine tourism) so as to prove a correlation between unregulated marine tourism and unnatural fluctuations in the factors responsible for maintaining a healthy marine ecosystem.
