Circulating extracellular vesicle-derived microRNAs as novel diagnostic and prognostic biomarkers for non-viral-related hepatocellular carcinoma

The potential significance of plasma extracellular vesicle-derived miRNAs in non-hepatitis B-, non-hepatitis C-related hepatocellular carcinoma as biomarker for the diseases was explored. In this study, we compared plasma extracellular vesicle-derived miRNA profiles between non-hepatitis B-, non-hepatitis C-related hepatocellular carcinoma (n=9) and control groups including non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (n=9) and healthy controls (n=9) using NanoString method. The differentially expressed extracellular vesicle-derived miRNA were validated in another set of plasma samples by qRT-PCR.
