The paper aims at exploring some of the close correspondences between the work of Iris Murdoch and María Zambrano, and at revealing both the connections and divergences which can be interpreted against the background of the common influence of Weil on their respective work. In particular, it analyses their common critique to the philosophical and political individualism in order to show how it triggers in each thinker a different use and meaning of the category of person.
