Control plants were mock-treated with nutrient solution only. Leaf and root tissues were collected from both treated and control plants at 0.5, 1, 3, 6, 12 and 24 hours post treatment(HPT). Considering the effect of circadian clock on plant gene expression, sample collecting for all treated and control plants started on day one at 8:30, 9:00, 11:00, 14:00, 20:00 and on the next day at 8:00, respectively. All samples were collected in quadruplicate from each of the sampling points, and five seedlings were randomly picked and mixed as one biological replicate. The samples were frozen in liquid nitrogen and stored at -80 oC until use.
