The dynamics of low-power openParFRIclosePar jets

The dynamics of lowpower radio jets are largely determined by interactions withthe surrounding Xray emitting gas. Our previous Chandra and XMMNewtonobservations of radiogalaxy environments have demonstrated the importance ofXray observations in constraining the physical conditions and dynamics of radiogalaxies on small and large scales. Here we propose to observe two of thebeststudied FRI radio galaxies, for which we have highresolution radio dataand threedimensional kinematic models, with the aim of measuring density andpressure in the Xray emitting environment so as to constrain the jet models, toallow physical properties of the jets to be determined, and to investigatelargescale jet/environment interactions. truncated!, Please see actual data for full text [truncated!, Please see actual data for full text]
