Raw Data_ Parental Psychological Abuse and Aggressive Behavior among Chinese Adolescents

The dataset, "Raw Data_ Parental Psychological Abuse and Aggressive Behavior among Chinese Adolescents," was collected from secondary school students across several regions in China using the online survey platform Wenjuanxing (www.wjx.cn) between September and November 2025. A simple random sampling method was employed, and after rigorous data cleaning, a total of 1,078 valid responses were retained for analysis. Standardized instruments were used to assess key psychological and behavioral variables, including parental psychological abuse, hostile attribution bias, neuroticism, and aggressive behavior. Grounded in the General Aggression Model, the study explored how parental psychological abuse affects adolescent aggression through the parallel mediating roles of hostile attribution bias and neuroticism. This dataset provides empirical evidence for understanding cognitive and emotional mechanisms underlying adolescent externalizing behaviors in the context of negative family environments. It also offers valuable insights for designing family-based interventions and school mental health programs aimed at preventing aggression and promoting emotional adjustment in adolescents.
