Transcriptome analysis and clarification of phylogenetic position of Digyalum oweni (Alveolata: incertae sedis). Digyalum is a parasitic apicomplexan found in the gut of gastropods Littorina. Although initially classified as an unusual gregarine, molecular phylogenetic analysis indicates that it is a more deeply branching lineage, which predates the divergence of Sporozoans and Chrompodellids.
