Comments on EU Battery Regulation Berlin, Februar 2021

In December 2020, the European Commission published a proposal for a batteries regulation. The German automotive industry recommends that electric vehicle batteries will be treated in a separate chapter. The VDA suggests a range of guiding principles for future regulations in the context of electric mobility: promoting markets and innovation, preferring European and international standardization, protecting intellectual property, promoting climate protection, considering the electric vehicles and electric vehicle battery as a functional unit, as well as considering the complexity and dynamic development of batteries.
