Cultivated strawberry (Fragaria ananassa Duch, 8n = 56) is a widely grown hybrid species cultivated worldwide for its promising economic value. The cultivated strawberry 'Benihoppe' is an early maturing variety from the cross of 'Akihime' and 'Sachinoka' in Shizuoka Prefecture, Japan. 'Benihoppe' has become one of the varieties with the largest cultivated area in China. We generated two high-quality haplotype assemblies using PacBio HiFi reads, ONT, and Hi-C technology. We expect that this high-quality assembly of octoploid strawberries will promote genetic studies in plant science and application to crop improvement and breeding.
