A fishing plummet which is part of the archaeological collection curated at the Natural History Society of Maryland. This artifact was recovered during the excavation of a precontact period site located along Stoney Run in Anne Arundel County, Maryland. The site dates to the Late Archaic to Early Woodland periods and was first discovered by a local property owner in 1899 and investagated in 1943 by Richard Stearns and the Natural History Society of Maryland. Courtesy of the Natural History Society of Maryland which has given permission for the model to be downloadable for non-commercial educational purposes.
