资源简介:
Archaeological excavations were conducted in damaged areas at Wahajhamka,
Site AR-03-10-03-537, in the Santa Fe National Forest, New Mexico. This site is
a large pueblo on a high mesa top, and is believed to have been occupied during
the Pueblo IV or Early Classic (Paliza Phase), approximately 1350-1425 A.D.,
based on the ceramic assemblage. The site is part of an area that would be
affected bythe proposed Paliza Canyon timber sale. Pollen and flotation sanples
were collected from areas previously damaged by logging activities. Pollen and
macrofloral analyses were undertaken to provide subsistence information. In
addition, a modern soil sample was examined to provide a control for pollen
sanples from features.
