EpiCherchell - The corpus of the ancient inscriptions of Caesarea Mauretaniae

It is within this framework and in connection with the work of the MASA Consortium-HN (Memories of Archaeologists and Archaeological Sites) - of which the Centre Camille Jullian (CCJ) has been a partner since 2012 - that a collaborative online open-access database (EpiCherchell - http://ccj-epicherchel.huma-num.fr) was created for the study of ancient inscriptions from Caesarea Mauretania. This digital research, training and publication tool, implemented in accordance with FAIR principles, disseminates, in addition to epigraphic studies, the archival photographic documentation produced as part of the work of Philippe Leveau (Emeritus Professor at AMU) in Algeria.
The database accessible from this site accompanies the corpus project by gathering and making available to the scientific community the inscriptions studied and the photographs that illustrate them. The data sheets currently available present only the descriptive information on the object treated and the transcription/translation of the inscription. The analyses will be available on request with the agreement of the authors.
